COR YOUTH PURPOSE
* To bring to God the glory and honour that he deserves.
* To produce "Fruit that will last"
- to have a lasting impact on the lives of the members and thus make them into disciples of Jesus
- for the members to stand firmly for Christ long after they have left the protective environment of the youth ministry.
* To grow in faith and spirituality - thus growing closer to God both:
- ourselves and:
- others - impacting the lives of others by our example, encouragement, comfort and support.
* Support
- to have other young people grow closer to God by learning from each others knowledge, wisdom and experiences:
- being able to share our everyday experiences, trials and joys in the context of God and our faith in a supportive and faith filled environment:
- striving to imitate Christ togetther as one.
* Connection
- teaching, learning to connect everyday lives with our spiritual lives, making them one, thus focusing more on God as the centre of our lives rather than ourselves.
* Church Community Unity
- for the youth of our church to act together as one body by creating a network of relationships in the Church community.
- to become better acquainted withh our Priests and religion.
* Understanding our Catholic faith
- what sets it aside from the variious christian denominations
- becoming familiar with God's worrd, the Bible.
- learning about the sacraments paarticularly the importance of Mass.
Important Please Read
We also aim to teach members recreation and the importance of a friendly environment. The meetings are not solely based on prayer and religion. We also devout a lot of time to recreation and leisure activities. These includes a variety of games and challenges that are enjoyable for all members.
